It is a collaborative network of professionals, scholars, and investigative journalists committed to advancing critical research and in-depth reporting across the American continent.
We bring together voices from North, Central, and South America to explore, analyze, and document the complex social, political, and cultural realities shaping our region.
Our mission is to foster rigorous academic inquiry, promote ethical and independent journalism, and support cross-border collaborations that strengthen democratic values, social justice, and public understanding.
Through joint investigations, publications, and knowledge exchange, RJSSA serves as a platform where journalism and the social sciences converge to generate impactful stories and research with regional and global relevance.

Luis Alonso Hernández
General Coordinator
Holds a PhD in Social Anthropology from the National University of San Martín, Argentina. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in Social Communication, specializing in Journalism, from the University of Zulia (Venezuela); a Master's degree in Educational Research from the University of Carabobo (Venezuela); and a Master's degree in Social Anthropology from the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO/Argentina).He worked as a journalist for major print media outlets in his country, a profession he combined with teaching at the University of Carabobo and the University of Arturo Michelena.
At the latter, he served as Director of the School of Social Communication from 2009 to 2012 and then as Dean of the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences until 2016, when he moved to Buenos Aires to pursue postgraduate studies. He was a PhD fellow from the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET). His research interests include the links between popular religiosity and politics, identity, race, and political crises in Latin America.
Luiggi Raggio
Academic Coordinator
Graduated from Arturo Michelena University in 2019 with a degree in psychology. He has taught courses such as Introduction to Contextual Therapies, Qualitative Data Analysis, Psychophysiology, and Psychopathology. A researcher in the field of behavioral sciences, he has published scientific articles in the journal Analogías del Comportamiento (UCAB). He is currently interested in quantitative analysis models such as mediation and moderation, and verbal behavior analysis.
Horangel Perez
Web Coordinator
Bachelor of Social Communication, major in Audiovisual Journalism, graduated in 2013 from Arturo Michelena University (Carabobo, Venezuela). He has built a solid career in prominent media outlets, combining his expertise in institutional journalism with a strategic focus on digital marketing and the application of new technologies in communication.
Throughout his professional journey, he has developed high-impact content and campaigns across both corporate and digital platforms. His continued education includes studies in marketing at renowned institutions in Buenos Aires, Argentina, enhancing his comprehensive vision of communication and his ability to adapt to global trends in the digital ecosystem. A versatile professional with strong skills in leading projects that merge journalistic storytelling with effective digital positioning.
